| A large gateway leads under a tall wall into the streets of Ashwaters. Several bored-looking guards stand watch at the entrance. Lone travellers and small groups (no more than 4 members) can enter for free. Traders and merchants pay 5 SP per wagon or cart. Anything resembling a monster is refused entry.

| Carts and tents surround a large communal well in the center of this plaza. The citizens of Ashwood bustle about the area, shopping for food, clothing, and crafts.

| A sign hangs out front showing a unicorn horn, an hourglass, and the name of the shop: "Amethyn's Curiosities".The windows are filled with bizarre items, including a shrunken head, candies wrapped in colorful leaves, and fancily decorated tankards amongst other things.

| The shop smells of oil and steel. The southern wall is covered in a huge display of knives and daggers...

| A sign with a falcon's head carved into it declares the nature of this tavern. The large common room holds a gregarious group that includes townspeople, riverboat folk, merchants, farmers, and one or two individuals wearing the badge of the Ashwood Patrol. Rooms are available for a small price, and the bartender seems friendly.

| A hanging sign shows this to be the loudwater general. From the other signs on the storefront, it appears to sell most everything needed by someone living on the frontier.

| The earthy scent of hay and manure is strong in this wide building. The whinny of horses and the snort of oxen indicate that the building houses many beasts of burden. Carts, wagons, and other transports are parked nearby.

| The clanking of metal on metal, the hiss of steam, and the roar of flame bellows out from the open doors of this establishment. A hammer and anvil decorate the sign above the doors.

| A sign displays several oddly shaped bottles and the word "Apothecary".A dozen different scents waft through the open door including a musky vanilla, cinnamon, orange peel, and gunpowder.

| These dwellings crowd together within the walls, some housing only one family, others housing many who have squeezed in together. They fill most all available space.

| A temple is seperated from the other buildings of Ashwood by a small hedge. The ivy-covered walls of the temple rise high above the walls of Ashwood. The symbol of an oak leaf glows with its own emerald light above the entranceway.

| This place is active regardless of the time of day. Several large wood structures house the goods of merchant doing business on the river. By day, people bustle about doing business and transferring barrels and crates from the cargo to the tradeships or vice-versa.By night, raucous noises can be heard from the pub situated along the West wall.

| The overwhelming scent of spirits and smoke envelopes this pub. Calloused fisherman and dockworkers drink and gamble away their pay. Wise old men and wise old women sip their ale quietly, waiting to tell the tales of the river.

| This grand manor is one of the best examples of fine dwarven craftsmanship. The building includes its own stable, buttery, and servant's home. The manor appears to be over two hundred years old --- and looks as though it will weather another two hundred.
